Technology is playing an increasingly integral part in ensuring accessibility and transparency. The Lumi platform continues to be at the forefront of delivering good governance. Lumi can provide proprietary devices, tablet kiosk systems, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), or traditional paper poll methods of voting. The technology provides immediate, on-screen feedback giving voters the security of knowing their vote has been counted. Results can then be displayed instantly to the audience.
Pre-voting allows votes to be cast days, weeks, or months in advance of the live meeting.
Participants can also choose to nominate a proxy or the Chair.
A vote confirmation is received confirming your selection has been received.
If you attend the live meeting and proceed to vote your pre-vote will be overwritten.
Single motion polling is the traditional method used primarily for small amounts of resolutions, and procedural or amendment motions.
Questions regarding each resolution are usually taken just before the poll is put to the meeting.
You can change your mind by selecting another choice that will override your previous selection and can change your mind as many times as you wish whilst the poll is open.
Once you have made your selection you get instant vote confirmation.
When the chairman opens the poll, the full list of resolutions will be displayed on the screen.
Shareholders can use the blue trackball and online or kiosk voters can scroll through the full list of resolutions throughout the course of the meeting, whilst the poll remains open.
Participants can change their vote at any point whilst the poll is open.
There is an option that provides shareholders with the ability to vote on all motions, in accordance with Board’s recommendations.
Election questions will show the participant the requirements for a successful submission in line with the motion.
Multiple selections can be allowed and a submit button must be pressed to submit the selection.
A vote count will inform you of how many options you have currently selected.
A paper poll is the traditional but time-consuming method of polling.
A participant can opt for a paper poll where they fill in the card in accordance with their voting preference.
Paper ballots need to be signed before depositing the card into a ballot box or handing it to a registration clerk to be entered into the database.
Any paper poll added to the database automatically updates the results in the room.
